2016 Half-Square Triangle Challenge Info!

First - here's my quilted and bound challenge quilt from last year's challenge!

After finishing last year's top, I decided I wanted to enlarge the quilt and added an 8" border all around.

I love it so much... I decided I need to make another one - with more blocks this time, instead of a wide border!

Hence - the 2016 HST Challenge was born!

We'll do the original 25 blocks and 24 new ones - 1 of each per week! Last week (June 25th 2016) we'll do the last block and put the whole top together!

The new HST quilt layout:

The finished top measures approx. 84" square.

What you'll need:
-78 strips of background fabric (4 rolls)
-49 strips of main fabric (3 rolls)
-8 strips for binding (optional)

The half square triangles used for each block are VERY easy to make using jelly roll strips. The tutorial for how to make them is here.

If you'd like to work ahead, all of the first 25 blocks are available with complete instructions on the blog! The new blocks will be available each Saturday, starting January 9th. You can bookmark the blog page and check each Saturday or just look for the email I'll be sending out with the direct link to the new blog post!

Hope you'll join us!
